Mil-spec

Hey guys im new to this post and have a few questions. I want a gun that goes boom every time I pull the trigger. Is this the gun for me? I have a price cap of about 650. I really like the looks of this gun. I want to use it for IDPA and eventually as a duty gun.
Also what are some good upgrades I could pick up.

You might want to checkout the new IDPA rules before considering any upgrades. I'm in the process of reading them myself.

I'm not interested in competeing with my Mil-Spec, but as a duty gun and all-around fun shooter, it is great. I really enjoy owning mine.

As someone told me once, for the price you "could do alot worse".
