I need some help...almost 15 years ago I owned a colt gold cup,
engraved NRA CENTENNIAL MODEL , serial no. "NRA 19XX" [dont
remember the last two digits]. Would love to get it back..lost/stolen
in nyc. Any ideals about how to locate it???thanks bob

did you report it? Without the entire serial number you would be hard pressed to find it and if so without the serial number and a bill of sale it would be tough to prove it was yours especially since it became missing 15 years ago.
There have been a few of those sold on gunbroker but with about 5000 made and the serial number how could you be sure the one you were looking at was yours?

I think you'd be just as happy with any one of the 5000 made as long as it is in good shape and functions properly. I have to ask why it is you want that exact gun. If you don't mind. I mean all 5000 are exactly the same.

It was reported but date of loss was not exact because it was in a gunsmith shop
when he died and everything was locked down by the courts for 2 years. It never
showed up in the "final" lists of goods.
As far as "all the same"...I m sure you have a gun that means something more to you
than just one of the others....
