I have been shopping for a 1911 for sometime and have been reading everything I can on the forums. This is a great site with alot of great info on all of the various types of 1911. I found a great deal on a Springfield LTW Compact. Was wandering if anybody could give me some insite on this model.
I know it is no longer produced but I was needing a CCW and wanted something with at least a 4" bbl. It came with 2 chip Mccormick 7rnd magazines. Any info you guys could give me would be great. Thanks

shoots okay, had many glitches, though: slide pin walks out, front sight was loose, grip safety was a touch unreliable, ejector did not go over the rim of the round, keeping slide open.

What I liked: very light, short butt makes for easier concealability, 4" barrel gives a good sighting distance for me and the recoil spring is much lighter than on the Springfield Micros.

By the way, my factory mags hold 6 rounds and are flush to the bottom of the butt. Also, my Compact had Trijicon night sights

Sent if off to Jack Fuselier to have it and the mags nickel plated and the glitches taken care of. Also, am planning to install a short triger.

This is my first 1911 and I really like the single action trigger.
