Unmarked slide???

I have a 1911a1 ser 744xxx with absolutely no markings on the slide. Any ideas?

Sounds like the slide is an aftermarket replacement or one scrubbed of it's markings. The serial number is that of a '41 Colt if it is USGI, and the slide would have been serial numbered under the firing pin stop plate. To humor yourself you my want to look and see, it would be a very hard task to remove them from that location, but I have seen an instance where one did have the markings removed and still had an sn in that location.

Yep, thinks you have an aftermarket........or some sort of demilled slide, where the roll marks were taken off.
