Anyone carry their Spartan (or other STI) with the adjustable rear sight? I'm wondering how much more snag-prone this sight is than the standard Novak design. It seems with the Bomar cut this sight is fairly low-profile, but I'd love to hear from some of you folks who are carrying these on a daily basis.
Thanks.

I have a Spartan (it's back in Georgetown at the moment). I carried for just a week or so in two holsters-one high, close riding Bulman, one Comp-Tac straight draw belt holster. I have the same concerns about the sight that you do. Summary: So far, the type of holster and type of clothing (stiff 5.11 vest vs. sweater vs. Polarfleece vest) seems to be a major factor in how much snagging trouble the adjustable sight presents. If the gun becomes a carry gun, I intend to have the top edges of the rear sight rounded a bit and will use a close riding holster. I don't consider the experience I've had so far to be definitive, just allowed me to notice a couple of things. I shredded some suit jacket linings with other guns/holsters years ago, so I do have an idea of what goes on in this area.

Don't forget the front sight is not optimal for carry either. Those fiber optics are "snag-happy" and can break when you can least afford it. If you are dead-set on carrying your Spartan, you might want to consider the Yo-Bo sights sold on Brownells.

I was thinking maybe of having a tritium front sight or maybe something cheaper put in, but I thought I'd carry the FO for a bit and see how it held up. If anyone knows just off the top of their head what dovetail the gun has, I'm happy to hear it.
