I used a Greider from Brownells, but you can pick just about any trigger you want (as long as it isn't for a Para-Ordnance double stack).

In truth, that Colt plastic trigger is a dang good part...but, as always, do what you wish to please yourself and enjoy the Colt...

yes the plastic trigger is good but i prefer the feel of metal. i have found a metal trigger by ed brown. whats the difference between the combat and tactical ?

"Combat" and "tactical" are both current buzzwords that loosely translate into "Priced at 3x their actual value."
Don't buy the name they stick on it, buy the trigger.

Ain't that the truth? Using an adverb as an adjective. :nono:

Looks good. Ed Brown is always a good choice!

it took me 2 hours to detail strip the piece and fit the trigger.had to remove some material from the top, bottom and sides of the aluminum trigger to get the best fit. i also deburred the side of the stirrups and removed all the sharp tooling marks. over all, i like it cause unlike the plastic trigger, the new one has done away with the side slack and vertical slack.

I don't even mind that the trigger is plastic. My issue with it is that is very poorly fitted. A lot of movement, horizontal and vertical. Just seems sloppy. I like their new aluminum triggers, they are fit nicely.
But, going against the grain of almost all 1911 owners, I hate to customize my guns (except for grips). I like to keep things factory original. Not sure if I'm going to replace the trigger on my ORM Government Model or not.

You are absolutely right. It felt cheesy, like it didn't belong on a quality firearm. That's my only complaint with with my ORM, the poorly fit trigger.

Ditto on the trigger. But FWIW it worked...... ;)

I agree about the plastic trigger , theres nothing wrong with it .but it was loose and for me I disliked the tighter curve to it . I fit a Kings trigger , I like it better but if I could find a trigger that is black and fills up the space between the top and bottom of the trigger gaurd better I would like it . Tried to get one of the new ones from colt but they didnt really have a number on it yet.

My shooting partner Paul45 and I have used some Wilson triggers in the past with great success..... :D
