View Full Version : "U.S." Double-Diamond Grips

Just bought a Springfield Mil-Spec PB9108L. I wanted the model with the improved sights, ejector port, etc. rather than the bare-bones "G.I." model. However, the G.I.'s have these double-diamond style grips with the letters "U.S." on them. I think they look awesome and would love to put a pair of these on my Mil-Spec.

I've contacted Springfield, and they will sell them for $14 each (part numbers PI5161 and PI5162). I just want to know if anyone out there knows of some place that sells grips like these for less.

Thanks!

Post a thread in the flea market area under the heading of 'to buy parts' and see what comes up.

He can't, he is a junior member.

I haven't seen those grips anywhere else, so I guess Springfield is your only alternative.

I don't wanna be a junior member any more! :)

Well, if that's an area that I cannot access at this time, could someone else who does make an inquiry there on my behalf?

If Springfield is the only source, though, I'll go there. $28 isn't that expensive - I was just hoping for an alternate source.

Woozy,

Thanks for the heads-up on Caspian. I just checked out their web site, and while they don't have an updated picture of the grips, they at least list them. SA's web site doesn't list them as an option, but their Customer Service person I talked to gave me the part numbers.

Prices are the same either from SA or Caspian, so I might as well go through SA. They've been real helpful during my months of research regarding their .45s.

You don't think both Caspian and Springfield get them from the same supplier?

If you make a post somewhere, you could probably find somebody who has a set laying around that they took off of thier GI that you could get for just shipping. There are people out there that hate these grips for one reason or another, and you could probably take advantage of that.

I'll give Caspain a call/email and find out about their grips. In the meantime, I was able to post in the "To Buy" forum (thanks, Sabre!) a message asking if anyone has a pair of these grips lying around - possibly from a "G.I." model that has been upgraded - and is willing to part with them.

Who knows? :)

I found someone willing to sell me their grips from their G.I. less than Springfield or Caspian. Hopefully they'll be worth it.

Update and pictures to follow!
