My local toy store has a used Series 70 Government stainless re-issue in like new, appear's to have never been fired condition for $800. I checked with Colt and it was made in 2004. It come's with the Blue cardboard box, outer shipping box and all related paper work. Would this be a fair price????

Doesn't sound too bad to me. Bud's has a newbie for $846.96. If it's actually unfired, not bad at all. Fired, but like new, still OK to me. Give 'er a good once over and if she's unblemished, etc. I'd be comfortable paying that. Lightly used could be found a bit less expensive but if you don't find one with a little looking around and you really like it is the extended search/wait worth a few bucks less? You and your wallet can only answer that. I've recently seen one definitely well used with some blems for $745 at one of the shops I go to.

If it's as described I would think that $800 is a fair price. There is a Nib Blue one at my LGS and they want over a grand for it.... ;)

$800 is good enough to file for adoption..........while you could order from somewhere brand new for a little bit less you'd still have shipping to pay.
Post pics of your new family member if/when you adopt it!

I noticed that they have raised their price on that model in the last few weeks.

Prices almost always go up the first month or so of each new year. I was always impressed at how long Les Baer held the price on the P2 where it used to be. Colt's like most others just go up.

Thank's everyone. I think adoption is in order and will do so Monday. No scratch's or blemish's that I could see.The only thing I did notice was that the back of the slide doesn't perfectly line up with the frame(slide too far forward),but I have seen several like that and some a lot worse. I'll post pic's as soon as I can.

I guess I will continue to be at odds with most posters over prices. I noticed the last week or so I seem to be one who says "too high!". You guys (you too Joni) must be high rollers like my bud Larry! I on the other hand, am always looking for the unfound steal/bargain.......SO....on this question of used re-issue for 800.....I say for a few bucks more, you can get a NIB one.

Nothing wrong with getting the most bang for your buck! Even if you have deep pockets, there is more left for the next acquisition! ;)

Still part of the frozen north. It was about 15 degrees farenheit the other day, I was ready to break out the shorts and suntan oil! Amazing how when it is very cold, a slight rise from 0 to 15 will seem like summer is just around the corner. A virtual heat wave.

Haven't played much with the reissues, but I would think they'd be on par with the current mix...good luck on that Colt...
