I have a 5" Drop-In 400 Corbon Barrel for a 1911 full size (made by Roto bought from Sarco). I have pressed in the pin attaching the NM barrel link. It's a tight fit but moves front to back but there is a little friction (enough to keep it from working?).

When I reassemble the pistol and attempt to pull the slide back it only moves a little bit to the rear and then won't go any further. The barrel is dropping but maybe not enough to disengage the locking lugs from the slide or perhaps something else is binding? But I cannot figure out what it is??? Anyone out there have any experience fitting a drop in barrel to a 1911?

In addition, I have found that if I push with a bit of pressure on the top of the chamber the barrel will unlock and I can move the slide back (it's a little tight) or if I really pop it the slide and barrel will unlock as well. It is definitely not as smooth as the barrel that came with it. I also noticed that there is also some pressure on the slide stop cross pin when installing or removing it. Almost as if the link is just a few hundreths or thousands of an inch to low.

Drop-in does not always mean that.

First check the barrel hood fit........using just the slide. Then check lug fit, then lower lug fit.

Always fit any barrel, just like they are a custom fit type..you'll never go wrong.

Try looking at blindhoggs web site.........that will give you a good start.
