Sorry guys, I was hoping my first post would be a range report, but I have no gun yet.
I ordered a RIA Tactical from Centerfire Systems about a week and a half ago. Called my FFL on Wednesday afternoon, he said it was in, HO-RAH. After work , ran home picked up some ammo and went to the store, opened the box
it was a GI model.
I called Centerfire, they said they would send the Tac. when they get the GI
back. OK I understand, but it's going to be about another week before I'll have my Tac. :butthead:
P.S. Hello to all, this looks like a great forum, and thanks for letting me vent.

Delays disappoint us, especially when something one wants so much seems to be snatched out of one's hands. I can imagine how you felt when you saw that they had sent the wrong gun.
I have 2 of the RIA GIs and 1 Tactical. I love each one of them. My Tac is an excellent performer. Yesterday, for the first time, I ran some Remington UMC JHPs through my tac. It handles them without any problem.
You're going to love your tac when you finally get it and can get to a range and work it in a bit. For the money it's very good gun. Enjoy. FEN

That's a tough one there Knight, but it'll get here, just breathe deep and keep saying "it's on the way, it's on the way." It must be kinda like Christmas morning finding out your red bike has turned up yellow. Except this time you will get what you want!
Welcome to the family in advance....it's coming, it's coming

Thanks guys for the kind words.
You know what......I was just thinking...... If I had been alittle smarter.........
I could have sent Centerfire the money for the GI, and soon I would have had 2
Rocks.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I called centerfire systems just Thursday to order a tactical and was told that they were out and backordered. Guessed that it would be about two weeks before they got any more back in. Gool luck though. John

Knight,
That exact same thing happened to me with Centerfire. I was very excited to get my first 1911 so i did'nt even notice it was not the tactical. I figured it out when i hit the range and started wiping the gunk off it. I ended up shooting with the GI because I am very impulsive. I hope this is not a common business practice for centerfire systems. I had a great time with the GI and really like the gun except for the hammerbite (which is why i wanted the tactical in the first place). Anyway, when I called them they told me to send it back and they would send me another but I would have to do another transfer not to mention the extra time and I was happy with the GI so I chose to keep the GI and they are sending me some extra goodies to make up for the price difference. I would caution anyone buying from them to be careful, if this has happend twice it could be commopn practice. They did make me happy though their customer service guy was very helpful.
The Rock did have some issues with 3 rounds all the last in the magazine. I only put about 150 through and i have a sneaking suspicion that this will correct itself this weekend as I plan on running 1000 or so through.
Happy shooting!!!
