A little Help Please

First time here...read the posts everyday though. I have a 1918 "Black Army"
#427263 that I acquired in the late 60's, I have pic's but am at work so I can't post right now. I was hoping some one might be able to help with some additional info regarding this piece of history. I have studied all the 1911 sites and am just wondering if there is more information out there.

Have you tried searching on the term "Black Army"? I think I recall some discussions or articles about that variation, but I don't remember if it was on this forum, in an article on our Home Page side (www.m1911.org), or on some other site.

What kind of information were you looking for? You at least know about the existance of the "Black Army" variant, which puts you way ahead of a lot of folks.

Most likely shipped Aug - Sep 1918 to Bush Terminal in Brooklyn, NY for the AEF. Some small lots went other places. A Colt letter would determine exactly where.
