I saw something but could not understand, so please give some light to a blind guy:

I have disassembled some m1911 model pistols, to be exact a Colt and Remmington. I have a Imbel .380 that is just another m1911. But the Imbel model does not have a barrel link like the Colt or Remmington does. It is just a rectangular piece of metal that goes down the barrel and has a hole where the pin that connects it to the frame goes. This arrange is good or bad? The gun fires pretty decent groups and is reliable after some ramp and barrel polish is done. I'm puzzled by this difference and cannot understand the reason behind it. Any comments?
Thanks!

Its just a different design, like the Glock, H&K, or Sig Sauer. Nothing bad about the design. The Glock, H&K, & Sig all use something that's close to that type of system.

A .380 pistol does not require a locked breech system. You have described a blowback system that is adequate for a .32 or .380 cartridge, but would prove a disaster for a .45 cartridge. Apples and oranges.
