Can someone point me in the right direction to find a new trigger for my 1911PD. Who makes the best? Thanks

I'm not sure there is a best. There's many choices and styles available. Solid, sloted, with hole, aluminum, plastic, magnesium, short, long, different colors......you name it and you can find it in a trigger. There's even one that pivots like most other triggers do. Look on Brownell's web site and you'll find a lot of them.

Just about any trigger made to fit a 1911 will work on your PD.... I would suggest going with a good name brand, since it is more likely that the important specs will be right... Aside from that, it is mostly about what looks good to you...

The last few SW1911 I had required a taller trigger from EGW to remove the verticle play in the trigger.

+1 I have had the tracks be as small as .920 and as large as .940 on my 3 S&Ws. The standard Greider trigger sold by Brownells is .920 so you can get a nice tight fit on some guns. Greider also makes .940 but they only offer long 3-hole triggers in that style and you have to order direct.

I've become partial to DLASK ARMS triggers as of late. You then have to decide if you want a short, medium, or long version. Very high quality trigger... :D

I put a Caspian Trik Trigger on one of my S&W 1911s and it's a perfect fit as well as a nice trigger!
