Can anyone tell me how wide the paddles on King's ambidextrous thumb safety are? I called King's about it and all the guy would say is that they are wider than normal but not super wide. He wouldn't tell me the actual width.
Thanks,
Bill

King's wide ambi is very wide. I am not able to give you the exact specs.
I looked at both safeties and purchased their standard ambi. This is the same ambi safety being used by the Marine Corps.
If you live in the LA area, you may want to visit their store in Glendale.

Their standard width safety is the one I'm interested in. If you could measure the paddle width and post it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

Here is their website address and a photo of their standard size safety on a 1911. This should give you an idea of the size.

Thanks for the link. I was hoping for the specific width, though, so I could tell how much narrower/wider it is than the safety I have now.

My King`s ambi safety is 6mm either side. Hope this helps.

They vary a little because of the deburring/polishing before refinishing. The one I've got on my bench has thumb levers that measure from .215 to .225 wide.

Dave and Delta-x,
Thank you. That's exactly what I wanted to know.
