Red dot sight

Does anyone have experience with the red dot sights like the Burris FastFire (Jpoint, Pride/Flower, Docter). I am considering buying one (Burris) for my future SA 1911-A1 (first one :D ) and didn't know much about them, only what I've read from the manufacturers... I've seen some machined into the slide, but I haven't seen them mounted in the dovetail like stated on their websites (how I want to do it). Can anyone point me in the right direction to get more info?

A friend used the Jpoint with good success. Just order the mount for the govt colt and it will fit a SA GI or Mil spec.
