Really enjoying the forums and would appreciate some feedback on my Colt 1911.

Inherited from my uncle, USMC retired. He carried in the pacific during WWII. S/N 568xxx, "United States Property" stamp on right side and "82" is stamped on left side of trigger guard. I also have the canvas clip holder marked on back "1942"

I know this may be heresy but I considering selling this firearm. We are proud of my uncle's service and display several items to honor him. So selling to someone who will care and respect the firearm doesn't feel disrespectful.

Judging from the pictures and S/N what is your opinion of it value? How does one go about selling? Thanks for the advice...

Unfortunately, the pistol is refinished, and it's value severely diminished. Probably a $450 - $700 shooter on most markets. Unless I was in need of the money, I would keep the pistol and enjoy it for what it is, or make a display to honor my Uncle.

Appreciate the feedback, Exitwounds.

I agree, not worth putting it on the market at that price.

Thanks
