I've got a Wilson KZ45 with about 4600 rounds through it. I've never had a problem with it until now. At 4100, I replaced the recoil spring with their recommended 18.5 # spring. Following replacement, I had about 3 failures to eject in 100 rounds. The spent casing would end up stuck in the ejection port parrallel to the barrel. I read Tuners sticky on recoil and figured it was due to the spring being too strong at first. Now the spring has weakened some to where it "feels" normal and I'm having failure to extract.
The spent shell ends up about halfway out of the barrel with the next round pushing up under it (still in the mag). It fails to extract once or sometimes twice per mag. I have six mags and it does it with all of them. On our league, we usually only load six rounds per mag and will do it once on almost every mag. If I'm practicing, I usually load ten to a mag and it will do it once or twice.
The gun has an external extractor and it "appears" to function normally. I've looked at it under a magnifying glass and can see nothing wrong. it moves freely and will hold a shell properly when I have it disassembled and try it. I've also tried it with and without a shockbuff and put a 16# wolff spring in. Same problem.
Any ideas other than sending it in?
Thanks in advance
Mike
