I saw a pair of grips that I think were either VZ's or Davidsons, not sure but there had a 1* in the middle , does anyone know who makes these?

I am not sure of the actual maker, but you can find them on the Novak site...
EDIT: I looked, and they don't sell the grips, but they do have shirts....... :)

That's the place alright. Mil-Tac makes some excellent grips. Be sure and tell Craig you are a LEO you get a little over $10 off the listed price:-)

I just emailed them to get the total price. I'll order them as soon as I hear back from him. This will be my first 1911. I ordered a night hawk talon 5 inch. Got it in black diamond with the barrel and hammer chrome, also got them to engrave Marine Corps on one side and on the other SWAT 1*. cant wait to get it. I'm looking at which holster to buy now, I'm thinking either a Bulman, or a Garrity. If you have any suggestions on this fire away.
Thanks, Craig

How much does the custom engraving cost for just the 1* they have pictured on their site ?

I like Milt Sparks holsters. I have the "Heritage for IWB and the 55BN for on the belt carry. They are very comfortable holsters for all day carry. You can get them direct from www.miltsparks.com or www.lighteningarms.com. The second company has them in stock most times. http://www.miltsparks.com/images/Photos/Heritage_small.jpg

I've used them since the 1980's for HiPowers and 1911's of all sizes.
You will love that gun! It's about as close to 100% handmade as you'll get:-)

The 1* comes with no extra charge on the grips they make. Mine were $56 with the LEO discount. I paid standard shipping of course.
I'm not sure if they engrave that on your grips or not. Craig can tell you if you fire him an email. He's good about getting back to you pretty fast.

I was emailing back and forth with him today. If you want the mag release cut be sure and tell him. Some people requested them without so he needs to know.

These are a prototype set. Mine will have a slightly smaller logo and the mag release cut. Gives you an idea though.

Just sent Craig an Email. I think I am going to get these in Desert Tan with the engraving. Lots of good words about them.
