I recently installed a Wilson Combat Extractor and EGW O.S FPS in my Springfield G.I
I was curious as to how tight of a fit should I get the FPS. After several hours of buffing the FPS with a stone and sand paper I was able to get it to fit but it is tight fit. I have to snap the FPS into place, but once it is in place everything seems to be all lined up and the Extractor does not have any play in it at all.
I though I had read where 1911Tuner said he fits his like this as well.
This was my first attempt at gunsmithing and I am unsure of the proper fittment of the new FPS, I assumed it will be much tighter than the factory one since it pretty much just slides out with little effort.

I like to cut the oversized stops to a light press-fit. If they're too tight, it's a hassle to get'em back out unless you've got three hands.

My stop is more like a firm press fit, but I was able to get it back out without much trouble. I used a small dowel to push in the Firing Pin and pushed down on the FPS with another dowel to wedge it out.
Will this cause any other problems other than being a hassle to remove later?
I heard that they will loosen a little after some use.
Thanks for the help Tuner.

Nah. They'll usually loosen up a little after a few in/out cycles. No worries, mate.

Will the fact that my Extractor has absolutley no play in it (the orginal in my G.I moved quite a bit) cause any problems with the guns function or is this the whole idea behind using the larger parts, so that nothing can wiggle around?

It hasn't caused a problem in any of mine...and they all have one, except the collectible examples that are in original/correct condition...and if I ever press one of those into service...they already have one fitted and stored in the boxes with the pistols.

I also like a light, press fit when installed the EGW...
Now I know Tuner will probably disagree with me here, but I also slightly (and I mean slightly) increase the bevel diameter on the forward firing pin hole a bit more than EGW has on the original FPS. I do this as a preventative measure that my fitting might have not been a perfect and to take into account a firing pin that may be slightly out-of-spec...

I use a countersink to do just that.

I fit my EGW stops pretty tight and use one of Scott Mulkerin's "Firing Pin Stop Plate Removers" to install and remove them.
