Colt Gold Cup Series 80 Question, Please Help

Hi everyone,

i recently picked up a Colt Series 80 Gold Cup and was wondering if there was a way to change the slide to a compact slide. Do any one know which slide i can replace it with or if it will be possible

Any slide down to Defender will physically fit the receiver, but the dust cover of the frame will not match up to the contour of the slide and the slide will not be able to recoil the proper distance to have reliable extraction. The frame rails on Commanders, Officers ACP's and Defenders are 1/10th of an inch shorter than on Government models.

I tried putting a Commander top end on a Government model frame and had extraction problems, others have said it will work fine, so your milage may vary.
