Ebony Grips from Ahrends

I ordered a set of smooth Gaboon ebony grips from Ahrends and made a note with the order I wanted them very dark. I was not prepared for what just arrived carefully packaged in the mail today.

This has got to be some of the densest grain and uniform color ebony available. It transends wood and has become part of the Gold Cup. They dropped right in with no slop whatsoever.

If anybody wants black grips to go with a stainless 1911, you owe it to yourself to try some from Ahrends.

Your new grips sound great! Even though you feel pictures aren't necessary, we'd like to see some anyway. What do they normally cost?

I am interested in seeing these also. I'm building an all-black bobtailed Commander and I want Ebony grips; I had been looking into Ahrends so post up!

With this interior light you can't see how black this wood is. You can get the idea by how dense it looks. If you want black, this is it!

Thanks for the pics! I hope you don't mind but I tried to shift the color temperature to get a better feel for the grips. I know which ones I'm going to use now. :)
