Ok folks -guys and gals - what do you think? I put a S-A magwell and these ebony checkered wraparound finger grove grips. How do they look with the mag well????

Very nice! The mag well looks good and seems to match the rest of the gun perfectly.

O.K. Just remember you asked for opinions.

I don't like them at all, they look too heavy if that makes sense. Not in keeping with the lines of the pistol.

I am not generally a fan of finger groove grips, but those look even thicker than the usual rubber ones.

Of course it is your pistol, so what I think of them is really irrelevant, and I would have kept it to myself if you hadn't asked. ;)

Perfectly done but I am afraid the end result is just not my cup of tea.
The finger grooves are so pronounced that, to me, it affects the pistol's classic lines. Beautiful wood, though, and the magwell looks like it is fit perfectly.

If you have large hands, I think those grips would be great. Nice wood, and if they help you hold the gun better - well that is what grips are for. They wouldn't fit my hands, but I do have some Hogue cocobolo finger grooved ones for a couple of my magnum revolvers and they really help.

Longslide,
It looks like the front of the grips are not even?? Is that the pic?? Otherwise they look good if you have large hands!! On pic #2???
Thanks

Ivan,
Your eyes are not deceiving you! I have to take the grips back to Eagle Grips to get them fitted and adjusted to the pistol I will finally install them on.

they are just off a little on the allignment! Good eyes!!! :scared: :lm:

To all other replies ---thanks for the feedback!!! I as well was concerned that the grips were a little thick for the lines of the pistol with the magwell.

However - I have begun to like the fit and feel of the extra mass in grip for comfort and in function relative to single stack versus double stack 1911's that I have.

It's not something I would use but they're beautiful. That SS gun really sets them off. Nice...
