Have a COLT 1911-A,ser# 1145562 in original condition.Appears to have a Springfield Armory roll mark on right side of receiver.( very faint) What does this mean?

Are you referring to the "crossed cannons" stamp? Similar in appearance to the marking used by the current Springfield Armory (not associated with the Govt manufacturer)? If so it is the Ordnance Dept. Final Inspection Mark that was adopted in 1942, and located on the right rear top of the frame on all Colt pistols after @830000 sn#. It is often only partially struck and looks faint. It was also applied after the finish.
