I am about to detail strip a S&W full size 1911 with the Swartz FP safety (operated by the grip safety). I won't be doing any work on the slide, so I don't have to worry about removing the rear sight to get at the FP. But, I was wondering if there are any pitfalls I should be watching for as far as removing and replacing the operating lever for the Swartz safety? I understand it pivots on the hammer pin, but that is all I know. I have already had my series 80 Para down to the bare frame (with the help of Tuner and many others on this forum) and back together again with no problem. I generally know what to expect... but before I proceed, I wanted to know if there are any curves that the Swartz mechanism might throw me. Thanks.
