I am pleased to finally have a need to post to this forum!
Several weeks ago I purchased my first .45, a Kimber Custom Target II. Before purchasing it I spent a fair amount of time lurking in this forum educating myself on the M1911 in general and on Kimbers in particular. So before heading to the range I purchased a couple of Wilson Combat magazines and gave the gun a good cleaning and lub job.
Well I am happy to report that I only had one FTF (second round in the mag and the 16th round into the gun) out of my first 100 rounds!! I racked the slide and had not so much as a hick-up through the remainder of my shoot! Based on what I had read, I was dreading having all kinds of trouble, but fortunately that wasn’t the case and my Kimber has already established itself right next to my Garand in shooting pleasure.
Thank you all for your postings, both looking for help and giving advice. They have made my entry into the 1911 community a joy.
