What are the advantages or disadvantages of a full length guide rod

Advantage......none
Disadvantage........25.00 bucks wasted......Real heartburn during dis-assembly

IMO, unless you have a bull barrel set-up, avoid like the plague in the 1911 45ACP :-))...
