Ok, so I'm a little out of date. I know that Norinco 1911's came into the U.S. a while back and were well received. Clinton stopped the importation of them during his administration, and I lamented that but mostly forgot about them over time. Everything I did for a long time was 'Kimber' only. Now that I am back into various 1911's again, I'm wondering why Norinco's are they not available here again? When I read that we were receiveing their '97 Winchester clone shotgun, I assumed that the pistols would flow again. Why not?

Nope, the executive order remains in effect, so no Norinco ammo or semi-auto weapons. Seems to me Norinco was recently implicated in selling missile technology to Iran, I think, and the executive order is not likely to be lifted any time soon.
