Anyone familiar with Post WW11 1911A1 (Colt, Rem/Rand etc) replacement barrels marked 45 Auto and a stock or part #7791193.?? I have two and one is marked large SW, the other smaller letters S&W and both have M (magnaflux) and P marks. Clawson shows a SW but does not go into detail. My understanding is that this is a gov't contract ordnance part number. In the event I sell (I have others) I would like to be able to reference this. In 1960 with the 18th Engr Brigade as a demo specialist I was allowed to carry a 45 in practice, mine laying, C-4, etc. I never paid much attention to the pistol (young man waiting to get out) but we had an armorer assigned to this unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
