barrel-slide engagement .45 Officer's Model

Is this a problem to fix or likely to wear in: in my officer's model as it's returning to battery with or without ammo in the chamber the slide can catch and I feel a hang up as the lugs don't quite clear -- when it's closed slowly. Pressing the hood down will prevent the hanging up. Once in a while I can make it stay open, usually it's a catch that's noticable but it closes, and mainly when I put prssure on the slide toward the frame. Pull the slide up away from the frame when cycling and it's smooth. Question is is it damaging the lugs or will it work its way smooth. The gun's stayed out of battery a time or two out of the last several boxes of ammo, so maybe it's affecting function. It unlocks smoothly opening the slide and I don't see the lugs wearing or flangeing anywhere. Recommendations? Thanks much.

How new is this gun? If it is new, give it some time for the parts to mate together. Then let us know how it works (maybe after 1000 rounds or so).

Sounds a little like the link might be a little too long. Not long enough to affect cycling all the time, but long enough to push the barrel up too early. It could be the bottom lug is not cut quite right, but prolems with factory barrels usually stem from the link.
