I picked it up today, and its a serious hunk of steel for the money ;)

Springfield's WW2 GI Model 1911A1.

It has a real decent trigger, and its as slick as current Colts and Kimbers.

I've owned $800 1911's that weren't as well put together.

A real bargain in todays world of overpriced junk.

I have the exact same gun in the "4 commander size, I paid $430 for mine, the "3 "4 & "5 in that model run the same price. Been real happy with it so far.

I paid $400 for mine last month at a gun show in Austin, 600 rounds later its still running like a champ, only thing Ive done is smoothed the feed ramp some with a fine grit crocus cloth to keep it nice and shiny as that area fouls easily.
