I just purchased a new Gold Cup Trophy. It came packaged with a second much longer recoil spring.Would someone tell me what it would be used for?
Thanks

One for full power hardball ammo, one for light target loads.

I have no clue. I only know that one is lighter, you may be able to tell which is lighter by installing and working the slide.

Even if the spring rate is different, the springs shouldn't be of vastly different lengths. I have new springs in rates running from 10# to 24#, and they are all within about 1/4" of being the same length.

the extra spring is nearly 50% longer than the stock one

According to my owners manual on my Goldcup the one with the green end is the one for wadcutter(light loads) and the other is for the heavy loads.

thank you very much I just read the instructions. I didn't even realize it was a fire specific manual.Though it was generic like most of the other brands.
thanks again
