My local shop has offered me a good price on one of these. How are they doing for anyone who has one?
I'd prefer to stay with a steel frame, I don't know why - just because..

From my experience there fine. My shooting partner has one in .38 super and he swears by it. I personally love the XSE line and would rate it well v/s springfield and Kimber. Some gripe about the grip safety , But FWIW I don't have an issue with the duckbill type offered by Colt..... :)

I have a Steel framed XSE Combat Commander .45 that is just fantastic.
I love it.
Very accurate, has never jammed and is perfectly balanced. Probably the
finest handgun (the Commander series) in the known universe.
I don't do plastic or aluminum or alloy or pretend metal frames.

I'm VERY pleased with my XSE LW Commander. JMHO, I don't want to carry all of the weight of a full sized Government model in a Commander sized weapon. As long as it's a Colt, it has to be good.

Don't know which I like more, my .38 Super Lightweight or the .45 Stainless...love 'em both! Can't beat an XSE Commander!
