Colt .40 cal.

I came across a .40 cal stainless today at a local shop, Id say good to very good condition. No scratches, No box or paper work, after market grips, 1 mag = 599$ plus shipping (the shop is 2 miles over the state line) transfer fees and nix fee. It would end up being around 675 give or take. What do you guys think?

Fair price. Colts in .40 a hard to come by. For the price I would say buy..... :)

Yes jump on it. My Colt was $1200 in .40 S&W though it is a Gold Cup. They are a fun 1911 to shoot in mixing it up a bit. Different animal than a .45 ACP

This would mean temporarily lifting my no gun ban.Im gonna have to sleep on it.You got no idea how hard it was walking out the store knowing it could be gone by morning.Im trying to convince my girl she needs this very badly,then I wont have to lift my ban and the 40 will find its rightful home in MY... I mean OUR safe. :lh:

swampthang, my friend I too am suffering from a "no new guns till next year" problem. I did violate that somewhat last weekend with a new (to me) Winchester 1300 Ranger 12 ga (for skeet) so now it is "know new guns by the end of the year".
See there is loopholes in every promise if you look hard enough, if you can't find them you either need a lawyer to find it or a new promise. :D

Hunter, my enabling brother in all things Colt , The loophole is that Ive managed to convince my lovely girl that this should be her first Colt .I will be getting up bright and early and going down to the shop to field strip it and give it a good going over. I just hope she lets me shoot it.

Oh I am sorry. I did not post that last post, my cat Leroy walked across the keyboard typing that out and submitted that while I was getting a beer. I reckon he found spellcheck and everything.

Please let us know. The .40 S&W is a neat round. It is a short 10mm but plenty deadly. Do you reload for the .40 S&W? If so I got a few pet loads that work well that may help you get started.

There was a flaw in my planning though as I was going over The Girls 40 ,the guy sprung this on me and while I was on the ropes hit me with a counter punch I wasn't ready for, my self imposed ban was lifted for a split second and deposit money jumped out of my wallet for this little sweetheart thgat needed a new home

Thanks for all the kind words , I dont know if I would really like to see her get a full fledged case of THE FEVER as its hard enough to find good colts as it is.I will be bombarding her with combat commander pics , but I dont think system is gonna work twice
