Hello to the forum! I'm a new poster.
My question is about a recent article( and I don't know whether it was in a gunzine or on the net) about building a 1911 from an unmachined frame ?casting?. The article was about the author's experience building a 1911 from a partially machined frame that was brazed together from two halves (i.e. the seam was straight down the midline of the pistol front to back, top to bottom). The braze line ran around the whole periphery of the frame after it was finished and would not take the ?cold? blue formula the author used .
Does anyone recall that article and could you tell me the source of that frame?
