I am having trouble with a used colt gold cup that I bought. The gun refuses to shoot any kind of lead load good, mostly shotgun patterns. The best groups that i get are with Magtech 230 ball loads and it is first shot wide then two or three in ragged hole then one or two more fliers. Pressed on the rear barrel hood and it doesn't move down. When I bought the gun the barrel had black streaks in the last inch or two of the muzzle. Spent a week cleaning it with solvents and a lewis lead remover and black streaks are still there. Maybe the guy that had it before me was a bubbasmith and tried to clean the barrel with some kind of acid and screwed it up.Time for a new barrel? Any thoughts guys. The gun is a series 80 SS with prong type bushing
