... I traded a Galco Yaqui holster for a set of Alumagrips, standard checkering in OD Greengrey, with a member here (RustyGuns).

I LOVE THEM! I don't miss that Yaqui style one bit, and I LOVE the Alumagrips. I'm a "grip pimp", except on my USGI, my GI45, my Mil-Spec, and my Colt's 38 Super Model--the USGI with the originals, my GI45 with the originals, my Mil-Spec and 38 Super Model with handmade faux ivories with the Texas star in them--and while I LOVE the Rock Island Armory Phillipine mahagonies, my RIA 1911A1 is the one with the Alumagrips, and I'm pretty much SET on those, like the rest of them mentioned above.

I find the Alumagrips extremely well-made, comfortable, and actually very weighty... I resisted metal grips at first; but, really, my faux ivories and my Hogues on my other non-1911 pistols and revolver, are non-wood, too. The Alumagrips look good, and feel good. Love 'em.

They fit, they work, no problems. As much as I love the wood U.S. double-diamond checkereds on my GI45... I may eventually buy another set of these same Alumagrips for it.

Y'all take care and be safe.

I'm considering a pair of black anodized "Deluxe Tactical" thin, lightweight Alumagrips for my Loaded. I like the look of half-checkering, and I think black on black looks really cool.

I'm glad to see someone mentioning the Alumagrips in this forum. The green-gray looks sharp on your Rock!

I may place an order on Friday, if I don't change my mind.

It looks nice. I got a set of Alumigrips a while back and never decided what gun to put them on.

I like the Alumagrips very, very much. I wasn't very open to metal grips; I'd only had woods, synthetics, and rubber ones.

I got a pair of pewters recently; they are okay, but one of them I'm going to have to take a round file to as the screw holes are not far enough apart on the right one. But, personally, I don't really like the "feel" of the pewter, although I do like the design on them, which is kinda a western-leather-engraving look.

I'd consider Alumagrips in the future. Possibly German silver ones, if I could afford them in a nice design. Really, I reckon it's not the material, it's the feel, fit, and durability. We've all seen them in other materials, like stag horn, ivory (real), pearl (real), VERY exotic rare woods. Matching a good set to a good gun, is one of the easiest ways to personalize it.

Thanks for the positive comments, all! Take care and be safe.
