Ok... so I have my new EGW FPS... I have it all radiused up and ready to go... Now, I just need to figure out how to do the rest of the fitting... I am sure I know what needs to be done, and in what order, but I want to make sure.. Is there a link to a FPS fitting article somewhere somebody could point me to??

Check the "stickys" in the smithing forum.

Equal amounts from both sides until the stop enters the slide with the extractor removed...then fit to the extractor by taking material off the right side and be sure that the firing pin will snap back in place freely after the final fit.
From Tuner himself.

I went ahead and followed the Wilson instructions... It is exactly what I thought I should be doing, but it is nice to hear it from someone else... I could not use Tuner's info, because there was more metal on the right side. If I had removed from both sides, the FPS would have been offset to the left, causing the FP hole not to be centered.... Everything turned out great. :D

Surprising how much time it can take to get that little part in there just right. And I've noticed how the stop can go from a very tight fit to a drop-in fit with less than one file stroke. That's where the magic is. If you plan to do more than one, consider picking up one of the SDM firing pin stop tools. It will really save your fingers.

Just got a new Kimber Custom 2. Fired 600 round down range .Seems to have some rotational value in the FPS.Say 5 to 7degrees.Spent cases have little dings half way down as if touching exhaust port. Is this typical? And if I was to order one of these EGW FPS Would it a 70 or 80 series?

It would surprize you how a little peening with a hammer or punch marks with a punch will tighten up a loose FPS.
How long it lasts is another question.

I would just spend the $15 for a new one from EGW.... If you remove your FPS and look at it the same way you would see it if it were still in the gun, look at the lower right corner... If there is a notch there, it is a series 80. If there is only the notch on the left side, then you have a series 70. It took me about 10 minutes to install mine.....

I just fit a couple of the EGW parts to my series 70 & 80 Gold Cups. They're a good quality part.

Am I to understand that the FPS from EGW is oversized such that you should remove equal amounts from both sides, but that the one sold by Wilson needs more/only metal removed from the right side?
What do the "Wilson instructions" say exactly?
