I just came back from the range where I shot my brand new XSE. I really like this gun and did petty well for the little experience I have. I shot 150 rounds of Winchester white box FMJ's and 16 rounds (two mags) of Remington JHP's and everything operated flawlessly. I am definitely happy that I decided on this Colt.

Thanks, The wood is original, the rubber finger groves are not. They are from Pierce and fit under the stock gips and cost approximately $12. They look and feel nice.

how does it shoot?when i first got mine,it shot low at 20 yards.no big problem,i just filed my rear sight to adjust.just wondering if this was a common problem with the new colts.

I have only shot a pistol a few times before today, so take this for what ever it is worth. To me the sights seemed to be right on. I was very acurate right to left however I was not quite as acurate up and down but I believe that was me not the gun.

Your'e starting on a journey I began in 1974. I envy you in a way. There is so much to learn and it's a fun journey! Enjoy the Colt--you made a great choice!

I recently picked up my first 1911 - a stunning XSE with rosewood grips. After shooting 200 initial ball rounds and having flawless function and nice. tight groups I decided to change my carry piece to .45 ACP from .357 revolver. I was hoping Cabela's would have a Defender in stock. No dice, but they did have a Kimber Ultra Carry. Haven't shot that yet so the jury's still out on that one.
I can definitly say that this XSE is already my new favorite and figure it'll get even better after I get some more rounds thru 'er. No regrets on this one, that's for sure - LOVE IT!!! Perfect function and drop dead gorgeous to boot...

I still love my XSE LW Commander after over 2K rounds. Below is WWB 230g at 22 yards. I am pretty sure I blew the one round. It was shooting a little left and I adusted it a tiny bit. Now it is right. Oh well. High is good at 22 yards for me.
