I am thinking I need a new firing pin stop. mine is looking kind of battered. (possibly from it moving around?)I also get a spent casing in the face every 15 rounds or so. What say ye?

Ye says.........the case in the face grasshopper, is not caused by firing pin stop! :D

Post a pic of the stop, let's take a look.

As for the case impailing your face, most likely the extractor needs adjusted or prepped properly for proper ejection...........and/or.........the ejector needs to be looked at.

I need to dress the extractor, need some quite time for that level of detail. Although, since it's not jamming, the casing to the face does provide some comic relief... :D

The stop doesn't look bad, but some of the cases in the face problem could be from the extractor clocking or turning in the tunnel.

If you're going to replace it, get an oversize stop from EGW. It'll keep the extractor right where it needs to be, and will calm the recoil/muzzle flip a bit as well.

There's a rather lengthy thread discussion on here about them. I would suggest you go read that thread.......that will help you out.

THanks,

Yeah, that thread is a monster. It would probably be helpfull to new members to cut that sticky down to just the nuts and bolts. I am going to order a stop from EGW. I am going to stick with my 18 lb. recoil spring for now. I have a GM spring awaiting my alteration per Tuner. Man, I wish I lived near that guy. "Hey Tuner, want me to mow your lawn? No charge, but could you take a look at my pistol real quick?"
