Gentlemen,
What safes are you guys using? Curious to know how you are storing your firearms.
Soundoff on what you are using and why. Don't forget the pics please.

Greetings,
LtDave, nice pics. Very clean, I (as a perfectionist and neat freak) am impressed. Quite the collection, as well.
Great job.

Well mine is just a little smaller than that one. LOL
It is a Sentry fire safe that holds 8 long guns on one side and has selves for pistols and ammo on the other side. It is approximately 22x22x60. It has the electronic combination lock for easy access. Not the most expensive safe in its size, but it serves my needs. :)
Sorry no picture, the camera is on loan to a friend.

How is the feeling about electronic locks on gun safes? I would imagine that in times where guns could prove most important (such as wide spread blackouts from a disaster) that an electronic lock would only keep you from the guns that are intended as protection.

Well, the electronic lock on mine runs on batteries. If they fail, I can remove the eletronic circuitry and use a key located behind the lock.
The lock has a low battery indicator, so I can change them when required, but in two years, I am still on the same 2 AA batteries.

Glad to hear some safes have a backup method then. I'd hate to be in an area affected by an EMP and not be able to get to the guns when looting starts.

i think that a regular spin combo looks better but i can see the advantages of the electronic locks...
