Bluing a Kart Barrel.
I want to blue a Kart bushing and barrel (at least the chamber area) using a cold bluing agent. I am planning to use Brownell's Oxpho Blue Crème.
It is my assumption that I need to mask (I was thinking corks) the bore to protect it and have read the suggestions relating to the cold bluing agents and preheating judiciously.
I have been unable to find any threads dealing specifically with barrels or bushings, so does any one have any tips specific to this little project.
Has anyone had satisfactory results on similar projects? I would really like to get the bushing looking as least plausibly similar to the Colt's finish.
