I was looking into getting a minimax and I have some questions.

What is the barrell length?

Whats the difference between the single stack and the double stack when it comes to grip length? I know a double stack is obviously thicker but is it also shorter?

I would think that the single stack would be more compatable with standard 1911 parts in the "officer" size, is that correct?

Thanks in advance for any replys!

Biggsie, I have a Minimax and I believe off the top of my head the barrel length is 3-3/4". It is the same as the Colt Officers Model. The grip is a little shorter than the full size 1911 and the standard mags hold six shots. I bought a couple of Kimber Officer Model mags that hold seven shots. I think there are some officer parts that will fit such and the mainspring and some of the internal parts. It does have an external extractor. The 1911 officers model grips will not fit. I did have some failure to feed/extract problems at first, so I lightly polished the ramp and throat, and have shot about 500 rds through it. It still jams some on the last round out of the mag, and I haven't had a chance to see if it is just one mag of all of them. I am using the stock Llama mag that came with it plus the two Kimber mags. It will shoot three inch groups and fifteen yards without much problem. For a $250 dollar gun I am pleased with it. It is pretty chunky in the hand, but I think that helps with the recoil.

I have a Mini Max (single stack) here are some specs for comparison to the Mini Max Subcompact.

Mini Max
Caliber: .45 ACP Number of shots: 6 + 1
Overall length: 7.3 inches
Barrel length: 3-11/16 inches
Weight, unloaded: 35 ounces
Height: 5 inches

This pistol will also take standard 1911 magazines.

The Mini Max Subcompact (double stack) specs
Caliber : .45 ACP Number of shots 10
Length overall 6 1/3 inches
Barrel length: 3.1 inches
Weight, unloaded: 31 oz.
Height: 4 ¾ inches
I cannot find specs for the thickness of the Subcompact.

The only Officer part I have put in my Mini Max is a ISMI recoil spring.
