I have a Kimber Compact Stainless II as a carry pistol. It is everything that I wanted in a carry piece. - - - -Except that the bottom rear corner of the butt digs into my waist when carried IWB tucked. (neccessary in my work area)
My question: is there a mainspring housing for Officers pistols that has has it's lower rear edge cut away like are offered for full sized pistols?
I believe that they are called "bobtailed" I've looked and looked and not found one. Perhaps the wizards of 1911 can help.

Thanks Roger

An officers can not be bobtailed but,
you can sure break that rear bottom heel heavily.
The limiting factor is wall thickness with the mainspring housing pin hole, there are no internal structures to be concerned with at the heel.
You can always tell a custom gun built by a smith that carries concealed. It will have this heel rounded.
