m1911.org's disassembly guide is excellent and informative, even to a complete gun newbie like myself. The only way it could get better in my opinion is if there were videos of the basic field-stripping process (not the whole disassembly process!) to complement the videos of slide stop insertion. I know, this is asking quite a bit, but it's just one small suggestion to make this already excellent site even better.

My friend, making the video is the easy part, downloading it will be the difficult one. I assume that in order to be informative and instructive, the video will have to be at least 10-15 minutes long. First of all, that would be one huge video file, and second, downloading will take for hours, if you are not on a fast connection.

Oh, one more reason I haven't done it. I do not look good on camera! LoL

Thanks for the suggestion though.

You could divide the video into segments. That doesn't get around the second problem, though! ;)

Greetings,
HungSquirrel, I believe either Wilson Combat or AGI sells a video series for the 1911, I believe the first in the series is full of the more basic 1911 info, including a basic field strip, and possibly an advanced detail strip (you'll have to find out).

If you're wanting a video period, and not just suggesting one for this wonderful forum, this may be a good option.

Check out Brownell's.. (http://www.brownells.com) and look for '1911 Videos'.

Good luck, God Bless.
