Just wanted to advise anyone who is intested that Otis gets an A+. I bought the small starter kit for about 9 bucks, liked it so much that I upgraded to the Elite System for $79 with every component you can imagine. Basically insert coated wire into breach end and pull out through the muzzle. You use both a patch and a brush. The manufacturer warns against ever running a brush in both directions as many of us have been doing for years, and they give a very persuasive arguement for this. Interestingly, the the same diameter special round patch is used for all calibers but the precise way that you attach it makes for an extremely tight fit. Very, very interesting concept and works perfectly with very little wear to barrels. This the best toy for all gun cleaning fanatics!

I have one also and am pleased with it. What I like is how it all packs up nice and neat and is ready to go at any time. I get excellent results with the rubber insert that the cleaning patch goes around.Makes my bores sparkle. Quite a simple and effective device.

I have a full on cleaning kit on the bench. But for range bag use, or packing in the field the Otis kit is tough to beat.

I have the LE/Military Elite Kit and I love it to death, the only difference from the standard elite is the absense of the .17 and I think the 20 guage brush.
I really like having it all in one bag, and I'm rather fond of the breech to barrel system they have, it works exceptionally well with lever action rifles.

Been using the basic kit now for about 6 months. Took awhile to get used to but works great.

How's it work at taking out lead? So far as cleaning a barrel both ways I would say that they latched on to a sales gimmick to sell there product.
