Despite the Wilson bashing I've seen on some of the boards and having made up my mind to acquire a Les Baer TRS....
I just walked out of Gander Mtn with a CQB (ambi+nitesights)with a relatively low S/N (0038xx) that left the shop around Sept. 2000. It is in mint condition. No wear marks on barrel/bushing area. Barrel is pristine and has seen very little if anything going through it. I was told the guy who traded it in was a collector and not a shooter. There was another CQB of his on the shelf with adjsutable sights and the light rail priced around $1850 and a well used Baer PII under 1K. Anyway, out the door I got it for $1613 w/ two boxes of 230gr Hydrashoks alongwith a year long 'warranty' where they will pay any labor/parts and shipping back to Wilson Combat for the next year. Somebody please rain on my parade! I don't care if the medallions fall out 'cause I already put on a set of McCormick slim grips for my short fingers.Only one mag came with it (brand new) and I didn't get the video, Oh well. Unfortunately I may not be able to test it out until next weekend :-(

I think the Kimber will be lonely this year

Was I lucky, or did I get taken?

From the looks of your times of your posts, it didn't take you long to choose between the two.

I would have chosen the Wilson too. It sounds like a good deal. Enjoy your toy and let us know how it shoots! Oh and like El Commadante asks: Where are the pics?

Congratulations! I hope you like it as much as I do mine. I carry mine daily and have thousands of rounds through it with absolutely no problems. I trust my life to it. You can get the video from Wilson along with a pistol rug if you didn't get that. I have found the customer service to be exceptionally helpful and accomodating. Yeah, I've read some of the bashing that has been posted ever since Nighthawk started but my experience with Wilson has been great. I own two Wilsons and would hate to part with either one of them.

Congratulations on your choice. (I sold my Baers, kept my Wilsons, and bought some Colts.) Your CQB is warranteed by Wilson. It goes with the gun, not to the original owner. Do not let anyone else work on the pistol except Wilson Combat. Enjoy!

Shot the first match of the season with my new CQB. Over 100 round fired in the match with no malfunctions (no surprise) and I used Wolf ammo! It shoots to point of aim and is certainly A-zone accurate. First IDPA match of the season is next Saturday and I expect the same results. Will report any problems encountered.

I hope you enjoy your CQB as much as I have both of mine!

For all of the members that have such nice firearms as Colt, Kimber, SA, Wilson, LB, RRA, Brown, Nighthawk and the many others..........well.......... sacrifices must be made. lol.........life is too short to shoot an ugly gun. As soon as I get a chance I'll post a pic of my 1911's.

I've been shooting around 3 matches a month, 2 IDPA and a USPSA, with the CQB and have yet to have a malfunction of any kind. I haven't even detail stripped it yet. Just a few passes with a bore snake and a bit of CLP on the barrel and slide rails between matches. Well over 500 rounds of Wolf ammo without a hitch. Had the same luck with my Kimber Classic Custom and wouldn't have expected any less from a Wilson. It is also my primary CCW weapon and I have the utmost confidence in it if, heaven forbid, I should ever need it.

I haven't been brave enough to load Wolf ammo into my CQB. I'm just not sure if I want to use anything but the top grade American stuff. I'm just not sure what the long term effects of steel cases on a chamber and extractor would be.

One day I hope to get a CQB for my daily carry.

I would not shoot Wolf ammo thru any gun!! I have read/heard way too many horror stories where Wolf ammo was involved. Yesterday I was on a message board ("warrifles") and saw photos of a brand-new Springfield M1A Super Match that was destroyed compliments of Wolf ammo.

The shooter had a squib load and the bullet was stuck 1/2 way down the barrel. Apparently, he did not recognize the signs of a squib; he then fired another round which made the barrel go KABOOM!!! The barrel split open lengthwise and the action was destroyed as well. Fortunately, no one was injured. The M1A looked like a total loss; it looked as if there were no parts that would be salvagable.

IMHO, buying Wolf to save a few dollars is really dangerous and is a not the way to go, if you want your CQB to have a long and healthy life.
