Just replaced my 16 lb. recoil spring and standard firing pin spring in my Colt 1991A1 45. I replaced with a Wolff standard 16 lb. recoil spring and the extra power firing pin spring that came with it. Is there any need to do testing or will this be reliable?

Not sure what you're asking. I run 14-16lb springs in all my guns and have not had any problems. If you think you may have a problem, run a few boxes of ammo thru it for reliability of function. It should run just fine as long as the gun ran before you changed the springs.

Wichaka,
Didn't know if a new spring would cause reliability problems. I had a 16 lb. spring and replaced it with a new Wolff 16 lb. It did run fine with the old spring. Also, was wondering if the extra power firing pin spring would be ok. My Colt has the standard factory mainspring housing spring. Should I be ok.

I've put a few extra power firing pin springs in over the years, I've never had a problem with them. The mainspring is probably still overkill for the new pin spring. You should be fine.

You should be just fine. Target ammo such as 185 grain swc at 650 to 700 fps might need a 14 pound spring, but if you are shooting standard ammo such as 230 grains at 800 or so fps you should be just fine.
