Okay... So I picked the new Nitron Rail up at the FFL on Saturday, took it home, stripped it and re-lubbed all the moving parts. I took it to the range on Sunday with 6 mags. The two that came with the gun, three Wilson's and an unknown manufacturer mag. So after a mag I start to get stove piping. I get it with every magazine and with Federal HST, UMC Ball and Blazer Ball ammo. So I take the gun home, stip it re-lube all moving parts again. Here is where I noticed how badly the feed ramp is polished. It doesn't look like they really polished the feed ramp at all. There is pitting and very little area that is polished. So it took me about an hour to sand it to a point where it is mostly polished. The only area not polished are on the sides and they still have a little pitting. I have noticed that the overall finished quality on this gun is a definite dissapointment. Any additional thoughts on the possible cause for the stovepiping? Anybody else less than ecstatic over the finish quality?

I wonder what SIG is going to say now that you sanded the feed ramp?

Heijutsu, please clarify the malfunction you are experiencing. Include a picture if you can. As for the feed ramp, I hope you mean that you polished it, and not sanded with sandpaper. I am happy with the overall finish of my GSR Revolution. No visible machine marks, good slide to frame fit, and no perceptible movement of barrel in slide when locked up.

You guys will have to forgive me, stovepiping is not what I meant. I meant to say that I was getting a failure to feed issue. It would either FTF on the first round or the first round would fire but all others would have FTF problems. I tried multiple ammo types and magazines from 3 different makers. All had the same problem. So today I sent the gun back to SIG to see if they can fix it. I will post when I get it back and have put it through its paces again.

So I had posted this same thread on SIgForum and it has now been suspended. I guess you can;t post there and have anything negative to say about Sig. So it has been three weeks now and nada, so I sent the following email to Sig Customer Service:
Dear Sirs,
I am currently on the phone with Jeremiah and this is the third time I have called in regard to RMA#269694. Each time I have called in I have had to wait on hold for at least 40 minutes to have a customer service rep tell me nothing in the way of what the status of my gun is or when I might expect to have it returned to me. I had this firearm for all of two weeks when I had to spend $47.16 to ship this gun back to you. This is what I would call far from good customer service. I think at the minimum you need to refund me the cost of shipping back my new gun to you so you could fix a problem that should have never allowed it out of your warehouse. This gun was failing to feed every other round that was fed to it. Jeremiah stated that he would contact me tomorrow regarding the status of my return, if I don’t hear from him tomorrow I will be writing back again. I am giving your company a chance to take a proactive role in fixing this quality control issue and I expect at least some level of service, because so far I have received no service.
I will post their reply.

Posting negative about a certain firearm or item is acceptable here, just not in the context in which you posted it.
Many people here have bought 1911 lemons, but we here try to help fix them.........not join up with our forum and go gun bashing.
So next time you have a problem, keep it toned down and let's all work thru it.
