I would consider owning a GSR at some point in the future if there are many who have had a positive experience and have not said so. I like to scan the forums and see what is happening with all the different 1911 makers. I wonder how many people are like me and have never joined the forum or chimed in with their good review of the GSR? Would you like to share your experience?

I would bet there are MANY good experiences but human nature is to complain about what is bad but not (equally at least) to praise what is good...perhaps they are out shooting...that said, I ordered a Revolution STX a few weeks ago...'course, I'm mad at SiG 'cuz it's not here yet... :D

I know for a fact that there are many out there who have had great experiences with GSR's. Off the top of my head, I think Belgian Blue has 2 that were great shooters straight out of the box. Mine is great, now that I have a barrel link of the proper length. The trigger pull is as crisp and smooth as any Nighthawk Custom or Les Baer I have tried, and the accuracy is better than I can shoot. Slide to frame fit and finish are way above what I would expect at this price point too.

I am exceptionally pleased with my GSR XO; while it wasn't quite perfect out of the box, SIGARMS definitely stepped up to the plate to make it so, and in a very timely fashion. If you go to www.sigforum.com, do a search under JonSigShooter and you can easily find my full report. I consider the GSRs to be the best value in a 1911 pattern pistol out there. I consider mine to easily be the functional equivalant of a Nighthawk GRP, (with the GRP being better in the cosmetic finishing arena), at nearly a third of the cost. This isn't a slam at Nighthawk; from those that I've shot and handled, I think that they are the ne plus ultra in the 1911 world at this time. With the GSR you're getting a superb duty weapon (and with the XOs, expect to find a blemish in the exterior metal and/or finish or two) with top quality parts, designed for long and heavy duty. With the Nighthawks (as well as others in this genre) you're getting the same, but with increased perfection in finish and pre-sale attention/break-in-which is what the buyer is paying for with such weapons. Despite some recent complaints on the internet, for over 14 years I've personally experienced absolutely superb (and timely) after-sale support from SIGARMS.

I love my Revolution. Been exceptonal thru 3000+ rounds.
It is at EGW right now, being worked as you read. I am having some custom metal work done... and then re-bead blasting, and replacing the rear sight.
Will post pictures when I get it back... after I shoot it till I drop!

I would buy another Sig today, if I had the $$!

This is very encouraging..... even though some have sent their guns to correct issues with the function of their revolution, they remain positive and still proclaim that the
GSR is a good shooter for the price. It almost seems that if you are willing to try a GSR, and are willing to have to send it back to SIG for tweaking, then you will end up with a good shooting, nice looking, no mim, reputable 1911 with qualities that demand a price comparable to custom guns. I think that I will own one in the future.

husky...everything you said...BUT...only willing to send it back if there is a problem...it is not a foregone conclusion that it will have a problem...my SXT seems slicker than...of course the proof is when I shoot it...good luck with your venture...

I have two GSRs, one of the original Caspian models and a new Nitron Revolution as well. Both have been OUTSTANDING from the get-go. My Caspian was a joy to shoot the first time. While it wasn't my first 1911, it was certianly my favorite. It's been absolutely FLAWLESS from day one through close to 4000 that I've put through it so far. I couldn't expect more from any pistol. Initially I really didn't care for the rail, but it tends to grow on ya. Also, that little extra weight seems to help dampen recoil a little.
My Nitron Revo, was spectacular from the moment I saw it. This one's even tighter (Barrel-Slide-Frame) than my Caspian gun, and that one's like a bank vault. On my 1st range session, I had exactly two FTFs out of about 150 rnds. (WWB ammo) When I took it home, I gave it a complete cleaning and used a little Flitz on the feed ramp, barrel throat and chamber and re-lubed it. Since then, it's been FLAWLESS through over 1500 rnds that I've put through it so far. I've let several other 1911 fans shoot it, and it's been very well received. The Nitron finish is really nice IMO.
I won't be parting with either of my GSRs. They've been excellent pistols as far as I'm concerned. I still say, the GSR is probably the best 1911 for the money these days.

I have a nitron revo railed and I had to send it in twice, but other than that it has worked fine. It has always rattled when it is shaken, it is not very tight at all, which is what I like becuase it will digest everything - any shape any weight any power. It is moderatly accurate. I likes any style mag - it will feed heavy power loads in weak springed mags and light loads in strong springed mags. I just need to find a proper fitting plastic holster.

Another good GSR Rev experience here. Pistol build date was 11/05, I purchased NIB three months ago. 1500+ rounds with no hiccups; I had some issues early on caused by out of spec reloads (mine). Once I fixed that it's been fantastic.

I have owned a Kimber Stainless Compact .45 since July and considered it one of my favorite pistols in my collection. I visited my dealer a few weeks ago looking for a Kimber 3 inch Ultra. He sold the last one but put a Sigarms stainless GSR compact in my hand. I told him that I already owned a Kimber Compact .45 which was essentialy the same gun. Suddenly I realized that I could not put the Sig down. Maybe it was the sculptured slide or the superb trigger pull, or maybe the steel MSH, Checkered front gripframe, Novak night sights, spare mag, and laminated wood grips and all for $850.00 "Gee" that is exactly what I paid for my Kimber Compact without all of the "bells and whistles". BTW in all fairness they both shoot superbly and never jam. I have no plans to sell the Kimber but I am going to take a hard look at the full size GSR for my next aquisition
