I remember seeing in Harrisons' book(I don't have a copy) that he mentioned Singer magazines. The illustration in his book looked more like a General Shaver to me. Anyone have any insight as to what a genuine Singer mag will look like?

Sure. The Singer mags are pinned base, full blued and unmarked. They are more highly polished than a Colt's mag. The finish should be the same or at least closley resemble the Singer pistol's finish, provided it is original. Their view holes in the tube appear just slightly larger than normal Colt mags, as do their pins at the base.
Normally, there are distinct marks on the side of the mag tubes near the top on one or each side, which may be due to a fixture used during production. Sometimes it is dented slightly in there, and sometimes they may appear slightly bulged or high there, both resulting in a distinct wear pattern I've not seen on any other mag.
Bottom of the base is also more highly polished than a Colt's mag.

Funny, but that sounds just like what Scott said. You really do admire him don't you? Did you ever get in touch with him about the autographed Clawson book? I can tell you right now that he would want the payment for the book up front, but he did me the same way when I got my autographed copies.

Johnny Peppers, I detect a little hostility in your tone. What's the matter with you, was it something I said? :)

No, Scott Gahimer has not PM'ed me yet with his name and address. I am still waiting because I would like a signed copy just like you guys. He must be a very busy man with his little research projects and what not, so do me a real favor and go remind him for me. Then report back to us with his decision. I believe not only should everyone have a copy of Clawson's, but everyone should get a signed copy as well while there is still the opportunity. :)

Oh no, I would never feel hostility toward someone just because they wanted their money up front for a book which they had already paid for.
Scott hasn't PM'd you with his name and address yet? His name is exactly as you have it spelled, Scott Gahimer. I have never known him to not answer his e-mails, so just drop him a line, and if you would like I will put in a good word for you. He is never too busy to talk with friends or friends of friends.
